Küresel iklim değişikliğiyle mücadeleye katkı sağlamanın yanı sıra, daha yeşil ve sürdürülebilir bir gelecek için MTSO AB Bilgi Merkezi organizasyonunda Yeşilocvacık’ta 10 bin fidan dikildi.
Avrupa Birliği Türkiye Delegasyonu ve yerel ortakları, 19 şehirde büyük çaplı bir ağaçlandırma kampanyası başlattı. Avrupa Komisyonu'nun küresel "Map My Tree" kampanyasının bir parçası olan etkinliğin ilk organizasyonu Türkiye’de 11 Kasım 2023'te Milli Ağaçlandırma Günü'nde gerçekleştirildi. Bu kapsamda Mersin’de de Mersin Ticaret ve Sanayi Odası (MTSO) AB Bilgi Merkezi organizasyonunda daha önce yanan Yeşilovacık’ın yeniden ağaçlandırılması adına 10 bin fidan toprakla buluşturuldu. MTSO Yönetim Kurulu Başkanı Hakan Sefa Çakır öncülüğünde Yeşilovacık’ta bir araya gelen Meclis ve Komite Üyeleri ile Oda personeli, aileleriyle birlikte ağaç dikme etkinliğine katıldı.
Ağaç dikme çalışmaları, Orman Genel Müdürlüğü'nün denetiminde 11 – 21 Kasım 2023 tarihleri arasında Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Denizli, Diyarbakır, Edirne, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, İzmir, İstanbul, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Konya, Mersin, Samsun, Sivas, Şanlıurfa, Trabzon ve Van şehirlerinde gerçekleştirilecek. Kampanya, AB Delegasyonu Başkanı Büyükelçi Nikolaus Meyer Landrut'un 21 Kasım’da Muğla'ya yapacağı ziyarette resmi olarak tamamlanacak.
AB Türkiye Delegasyonu, çevresel sorunların çözümünde kolektif eylemin önemini vurgulamak ve anlamlı bir etki yaratmak için yerel ortaklarla bir araya geliyor. AB Bilgi Merkezlerine ev sahipliği yapan 17 Ticaret ve Sanayi Odası tarafından temsil edilen Türkiye Odalar ve Borsalar Birliği (TOBB), Ege İş İnsanları Derneği (ESIAD) ve İktisadi Kalkınma Vakfı (İKV), bu girişimin ortakları arasında. Bu etkinlik, küresel iklim değişikliği mücadelesine katkı sağlamanın yanı sıra, daha yeşil ve sürdürülebilir bir gelecek için AB ile Türkiye arasındaki iş birliğini simgeleyecek."
